The Performance training squad exists for elite swimmers to gain access to enhanced resources in support of the athlete.

Swimmers who achieve the necessary criteria join the performance squad and swim together under the direct supervision of the Director of Coaching and set training program.

Athletes will take advantage of specialist screening in Physiotherapy and Strength Conditioning. Depending on ability and subject to successful application, athelets gain access to the High Performance facilities at both University of Bristol and University of West England including elligibility for specialist funding/assistance packages.

All programmes are individualised and developed alongside appropriate ancillary sessions including strength, mobility and nutrition. This provides you a complete resource for athletic performance!

Swimmer development continues at club level in accordance with the Director of Swimming's structure wide development strategy.

This provides a unified training pathway for all swimmers, in all partner clubs who work under there own club coaches in pursuit of set goals on their journey through the sport of competitive swimming and into the performance squad.

Talented swimmers who achieve agreed criteria are presented with the opportunity to progress into increased ability groups, take part in additional training sessions provided by United Bristol and ultimately into the United Bristol Swimming Club squads who enter into appropriate competitions as a member of the United Bristol competitive squad.

Swim Schools are provided by Partner Clubs in community pools across the City of Bristol.

Partner clubs cater for swimmers of all ages and abilities, from toddlers upward. As Swim 21 registered clubs they work to the Amateur Swimming Association's National Plan at levels 1-7. This develops swimming competence, confidence and technique.

Swimmers that show potential and have a desire to progress in the sport of competitive swimming are then offered access to the clubs development squad structure.
