UWE Swimming & Water Polo are a relatively young but increasingly successful club, part of UWESU (UWE Student's Union) and affiliated to the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association). The club is ideal if you want to keep up your fitness & ability in swimming and/or water polo, however we welcome swimmers/water polo players of any ability. Many of the club's members have the opportunity to compete in various competitions; the majority of which involve representing the University in the BUCS championships. Elite Swimmers have access to the United Bristol performance swimming partnership.

We have strengthened year upon year, with some of the best performances within the club being achieved in the most recent years. In 2011/2012, after winning the Most Improved Team award in 2010/2011 (left), the club was nominated for the Best Sports Club of the year, and for several years now a raft of the club's members have gained half and full University colours.

Individually, the club had some success with Water Polo winning several of their Southern Universities League games. Plus, swimmer Tom Hill reached the BUCS final and the British National Championships for the 50m freestyle. The club had some successes with socials which saw greater attendance and more variety, which we hope to improve on in the coming year.
